The Dematic Satellite Cart is a semi-automated, high-density storage and retrieval system for palletised goods. The cart runs up and down the lanes in a high-density, multiple-pallet-deep racking system to store, retrieve, transport and compact pallets within a lane. The cart can be moved between lanes and beam levels with a forklift for added flexibility.

The Satellite Cart solution is also ideal for buffering stock at shipping docks, prior to loading up trucks for delivery.
The Dematic Satellite Cart solution has the added security of being seismic rated and having 24/7 maintenance and support.
Operating Modes
The cart is able to operate in a range of different functional modes, depending on the warehouse requirements, controlled by the multi-cart controller.
The various modes of the Satellite Cart allows for greater flexibility and selectivity and ensures denser storage and space-efficiency, while also increasing the productivity of forklift drivers, as they can perform other tasks while the cart is shuffling pallets into place.
Operating modes include:
- Continuous Load Mode: the cart will move pallets into furthest available position for storage.
- Continuous Unload Mode: the cart retrieves pallets from the storage lane and transports them to the front of the lane, ready for collection by forklift.
- Compacting Mode: the cart can move pallets to the next available position to condense the storage space or make pallets more accessible as needed.
- FIFO Mode: pallets that are placed in the storage lane first, will be the first to be retrieved by the cart.
- LIFO Mode: pallets that are placed in the storage lane last, will be the first to be retrieved by the cart.
